The story so far
A career of starting things that matter
Ruth has spent three decades turning ideas into organisations: community services, a kindergarten, a food security charity, and eventually a healthcare group that set new standards for mental health and addiction treatment in Australia.
- 2010 Nexus Care Founder and CEO of a not-for-profit tackling food insecurity.
- 2011 Next Steps Kindergarten Founder.
- 2012 Queensland Parliament Chief of Staff to the Speaker, and Parliament’s project director for the G20 Leaders Retreat.
- 2015 The Banyans Healthcare Founder and Managing Director. Scaled to private equity acquisition.
- 2023 Sana Health Group Group Executive across a national treatment network.
Breast cancer survivor Ruth’s own experience of breast cancer shapes how she thinks about wellbeing, resilience and leading with generosity. It is why she is passionate about leaders being proactive with their health and always making time for their health checks, and why she believes good leaders make room for people in their hardest seasons.
